咏湖中雁
沈约
白水满春塘[1]，
旅雁[2]每回翔[3]。
唼[4]流牵弱藻，
敛翮[5]带余霜。
群浮动轻浪，
单泛逐孤光。
悬飞竟不下，
乱起未成行。
刷羽同摇漾，
一举还故乡。

[1] 春塘：春天的水池，水塘。
[2] 旅雁：指南飞或北归的雁群。
[3] 回翔：盘旋飞翔，回旋。
[4] 唼：形容鱼、鸟吃东西的声音。
[5] 敛翮：收拢翅膀，指回归。
Wild Geese on the Lake
Shen Yue
Spring pools are filled with water white,
Migrating geese in homeward flight.
When they peck food, cresses appear,
Their wings cold with frost of last year.
In flocks, they swim and ripple stream;
Single, each chases lonely sunbeam.
Hovering, down they will not go;
Rising pell-mell, they form no row.
Together flapping wings,
They fly until their homeland meets the eye.
