羞日遮罗袖[1]，
愁春懒起妆。
易求无价宝，
难得有心郎。
枕上潜[2]垂泪，
花间暗断肠。
自能窥宋玉[3]，
何必恨王昌[4]。
注释：
[1]遮罗袖：以华美的衣袖遮面；罗：古代的一种丝织品。
[2]潜：暗暗地。
[3]宋玉：战国楚辞赋家，屈原弟子。诗词中代指相貌俊美且有才学之人。
[4]王昌：诗词中代指身居高位，相貌英俊之人。《钱希言桐薪》：“意其人，身为贵戚，则姿仪儁美，为世所共赏共知。”

You screen your face with sleeves when you feel shy;
You won’t leave your bed when spring makes you sigh.
It’s not so difficult to find a priceless treasure
As to win a heart who loves you beyond measure.
You wet your pillow with your secret tear;
Your heart is broken among flowers sear.
If you could see a lover’s amorous beam,
You would no longer feel regret in dream.
