汀洲[1]采白蘋[2]，
日暖江南春。
洞庭有归客，
潇湘[3]逢故人。
故人何不返？
春花复应晚。
不道新知乐，
只言行路远。
注释：
[1] 汀洲：浅水边的平地，小洲。
[2] 白蘋：一种生在浅水中的植物，叶有长柄，柄端有小叶呈田字形，春天开白色小花，可供观赏。
[3] 潇湘：湘江与潇水的并称，多借指今湖南地区。
A Southern Song
Liu Yun
I pluck on islet white duckweeds;
The vernal sun warms Southern meads.
A friend comes from Lake Dongting’s side;
He met my lord on rivers wide.
Why won’t my lord come to his mate?
Again spring flowers blossom late.
He won’t tell me joy of new love
Has made my lord forget the far-off.
