In the Past 10 Years, He Has Opened Chinese Classes to his Hometown of Vietnam

Listen to this article

2023 is the 10th anniversary of the “the Belt and Road” initiative and the 10th year of the Vietnamese alumnus TRAN NHO QUYET (陈儒决) of Northeast Forestry University returning to China to start his own business. He set up an international education company in Vietnam, which is committed to promoting Chinese, contributing to Vietnamese students studying in China for further education and jointly building the “the Belt and Road”. Returning to Harbin, China, which is so far away from my hometown, to study abroad is an important challenge in my life, “TRAN said.” Returning to Vietnam to start a Chinese language class is another challenge. Only in this challenge can one stimulate the tension of life.

Studying in China

In 2013, TRAN came to China to study and became the first master’s student admitted by Northeast Forestry University to receive a Chinese government scholarship. Like most international students, adapting to the climate and language is the first challenge he faces. TRAN said, “The temperature in Harbin sometimes drops to minus 40 degrees Celsius, which is very different from Vietnam. My Chinese classmates all ask me if it’s cold, but I think this cold is nothing compared to the beautiful snow scenery in Harbin.

Language is a big problem that every international student needs to solve. TRAN decided to recall his initial feelings when he came to school: “Because I was a Chinese project student, the teacher would teach in Chinese, the group meeting would need to speak in Chinese, my favorite restaurant would order in Chinese, and the teachers at the International College always told me to try to communicate in Chinese as much as possible, which would help me quickly integrate.” During those days, TRAN decided to put in a lot of hard work and strive to learn Chinese well.

After graduating with a master’s degree, TRAN decided to return to his alma mater to pursue a doctoral degree at the suggestion of his supervisor. This surprised and honored me, “TRAN said with a hint of embarrassment, Because I am particularly aware that the teachers have invested a lot of time and energy in me, guiding international students is much harder than guiding Chinese students. “TRAN repeatedly mentioned gratitude,” I am grateful for China’s policy of studying in China, which has provided me with such a rare opportunity. I am grateful to my Chinese teachers and classmates, who are always willing to treat me like family and make me feel warm.

We cannot learn Chinese for nothing, making it a platform for realizing our own value

After graduating and returning to Vietnam, TRAN decided to start a Chinese language training class. He said, “On the one hand, the the Belt and Road Initiative has made me see the prospect of this industry.

Soon, TRAN established Vietnam Times International Education Company, and “Chinese Promoter” became his new positioning. From enrollment to teaching effectiveness, and parental counseling, TRAN has personally taken action in everything. He sighed, “To do this industry, one must have a heart of awe, and only by personally investing can one experience the significance and hardships of this world.

In the more than 4 years since its establishment, the company has jointly developed high school Chinese courses with two large international schools in Vietnam. As of 2023, more than 2000 Vietnamese students in TRAN ‘s training class have passed the corresponding level of Chinese proficiency exam. He will also encourage outstanding Vietnamese students to pursue degrees in Chinese higher education institutions, especially his alma mater Northeast Forestry University.

In these 10 years, TRAN felt like he was spinning forward at high speed like a gyroscope. During the COVID-19, overseas Chinese education suffered a heavy setback, and TRAN ‘s company faced a double reduction in teachers and students. The market space for educational institutions like ours is very flexible, but it is also more prone to fluctuations with changes in the overall environment, “TRAN said.” The reason for persisting is due to my love for Chinese education, which makes me want to be an invariant in the changing situation

Turning to the impact of the “the Belt and Road” initiative on himself, TRAN said: “Educational exchanges are an important aspect of the” the Belt and Road “initiative, which not only gives me the opportunity to further study, but also sets up a platform for many Chinese and Vietnamese youth to carry out academic and cultural exchanges. In it, I feel the importance of connectivity. The destiny of mankind is interconnected. I am willing to use my own strength to connect China and Vietnam.

The wisdom of this connection contains rationality, goodwill and continuous upward momentum, such as the burning campfire in the world, illuminating every country along the “the Belt and Road”.
