Wang Yuanba listened to the sound of Qin, Yun and Xiao in his own ear, and knew that it was not false. When he returned the music to Linghu Chong, he said, “Dear nephew Linghu, you are offended!” Linghu Chong took it with a sneer, and when he wanted to sneer, everyone turned away.
Ling Huchong stood still holding the music score, thinking of his loneliness, and could not help choking. Zhuweng asked, “My friend, why are you crying?” Linghu Chong said, “I hurt myself and didn’t think of the death of the two elders who wrote this song. I can’t help losing my temper and bothering you.” Then he turned around and walked away.
But the Green Bamboo Weng stopped him and invited him into the house for tea. Zhu Lvdao said, “Little friend, I don’t know where you got this music score. Can you tell me?” Ling Huchong knew that no one in the world could teach this music except Zhuweng and his aunt, so he presented the music score respectfully with both hands.
But Green Bamboo Weng didn’t answer and said, “I have to ask my aunt first.” Only heard the voice of the mother-in-law coming from the left cottage: “Mr. Linghu Gao Yi, I just don’t know the names of the two songwriters, can you tell me?” The voice was not very old. Ling Huchong said so. The mother-in-law said in a “ah” voice, “It’s the two of them“
Ling Huchong was surprised to hear that she was a Wulin fellow, and immediately told her a lot. The mother-in-law said, “Nephew Zhu, take this young man to my window and wait for me to make a pulse.” Green Bamboo Weng took Linghu Chong out of the window of the left cottage and asked him to put his hand under the thin bamboo curtain.
The mother-in-law finished her pulse and said, “I will play the piano again. How about your comment?” Linghu Chong said, “Thank you for your patronage.” Then the piano sounded. Linghu Chong listened and felt as if there was a gentle hand touching his hair. It was like returning to childhood. It was very happy, and the real qi in his body was greatly reduced.
Ling Huchong was overjoyed and asked for a song. The mother-in-law asked Lvzhu Weng to teach him. Although Ling Huchong knows nothing about rhythm, he is gifted with intelligence. He can understand it and learn it. Zhu Weng and her mother-in-law are very happy to see each other.
For more than 20 days in a row, Ling Huchong studied hard. He spent many days with the mother-in-law. Although he had never met her once, he knew from the zither voice that she cared for her very much and was no different from her relatives. When he was about to leave, he bowed affectionately to the curtain and said, “If you don’t die, you must visit your mother-in-law and Zhuweng again“
The mother-in-law said, “The Jianghu is so dangerous, you should take care!” So she asked Zhuweng to give him a short piano. Linghu Chong took the short piano, and then bowed a few more, and said goodbye with tears.
Today, the ship arrived in Kaifeng. Linghu Chong stayed alone on the boat to learn piano, and the rest went ashore to play.
