Listen to this article庄子（约前369－前286）。战国时哲学家，名周。宋国蒙人。庄子是中国先秦（战国）时期伟大的思想家、哲学家、和文学家。原系楚国公族，楚庄王后裔，是道家学说的主要创始人。与道家始祖老子并称为”老庄”，他们的哲学思想体系，被思想学术界尊为”老庄哲学”。代表作《庄子》，名篇有《逍遥游》、《齐物论》等，庄子主张”天人合一”和”清静无为”。
Zhuangzi (around 369 BC to 286 BC), also known as Zhuang Zhou, was an influential Chinese thinker, philosopher and literary figure during the pre-Qin Period (the Warring-States Period). He was born in Meng, the State of Song but he was actually a descendent of King Zhuang of the Chu. As one of the main initiators of Taoism, he and the first Taoist Laozi are called “Lao Zhuang” while their philosophic ideology is respectfully titled as The Philosophy of Lao Zhuang in ideological circles. His ideas, the unity of nature with humanity and leaving everything as it is, are represented by Zhuangzi and well-known articles, including Joy Ride and On Arranging Things.
