He Shen: Impromptu Lines Composed ~ 和珅·《偶书》 with English Translations

Listen to this article

Impromptu Lines Composed

He Shen

Face, wrinkleless, yet wrinkled,

Enjoy yourself in the Book of Poetry as it’s twinkled.

The ebb and flow of life is like the catkins flying,

The vicissitudes of the world is like a boat drifting.

East or west, it shows no best,

True of false, overweening should be at rest.

Buddha or immortal, it’s self-accomplished,

Which proves the perfect-out-of-practice unpolished.
