21令狐冲木料恒山派众人已经将他视作掌门，心下十分为难，但见众人悲恸之状，实不忍心坚拒，便说道:“令狐冲答应过的事，决不反悔，咱们吃饱了饭，这就上恒山去罢。”
The people of Linghuchong Wooden Mount Hengshan Sect have regarded him as the leader, and are very embarrassed. But when they see the grief of the people, they can’t bear to refuse. They say, “Linghuchong will never repent of what he promised. We have enough food, so let’s go to Mount Hengshan.”
22七名弟子尽皆大喜，胡乱吃了几碗饭，便跟随令狐冲出了酒楼，往恒山进发。
The seven disciples were all very happy and ate a few bowls of rice at random. Then they rushed out of the restaurant with Linghu and headed for Mount Hengshan.
23不一日到了恒山脚下，恒山派中弟子早已得到讯息，齐在山脚下恭候，见到令狐冲都拜了下去。令狐冲忙即还礼，当下众人共上恒山。
At the foot of Mount Hengshan a few days ago, the disciples of Mount Hengshan Sect had already received the message. Qi was waiting at the foot of the mountain and bowed down when he saw Linghu Chong. Linghu Chong immediately returned the gift, and now everyone went to Mount Hengshan.
24令狐冲住下后，四处巡视，又与众弟子商讨就任掌门人日期和礼数，意下不愿太铺张。众人都说:“无论怎么简便，总得定下一个正式就任的黄道吉日，知会四方。”
After Linghu Chong stayed, he went around and discussed with the disciples about the date and etiquette of assuming the leader. He didn’t want to be extravagant. Everyone said, “No matter how easy it is, we must set a golden day to officially take office and inform the four sides.”
25令狐冲心想，自己既然做了恒山掌门，总得做些什么才是，想起华山思过崖后洞石壁之上所刻恒山剑法，便溶进自创的新意，教给众弟子几招，让她们每日习练。
Linghu Chong thought to himself that since he was the leader of Mount Hengshan, he had to do something. When he remembered the Mount Hengshan sword technique carved on the rock wall of the cave behind the Siguo Cliff in Huashan, he incorporated his new idea and taught the disciples several moves to practice every day.
26日子过得飞快，转眼已是二月二十六日，这一天是令狐冲正式接任学门的日子。令狐冲起床后出来，只见见性峰上每一座屋子前都悬灯结彩，布置得一片喜气洋洋。

27令狐冲正自感叹，忽听山坳后有人大声问候，回头一看，原来是不戒和尚，他身后还跟着一个和尚，仔细一瞧，却原来是万里独行田伯光。问起才知，不我和尚已收他为徒。

28令狐冲与不戒和尚和田伯光正说得热闹，忽听一阵嘈杂声，竞有数百人涌将上来。原来桃谷六仙、老头子、祖千秋、蓝风凰等一干人都来了。

29令狐冲自上恒山之后，对着一群尼姑、姑娘，说话行事，无不极为拘束，此刻陡然遇上这许多老友，自是不胜之喜。

30令狐冲同群豪寒暄一阵，便在见性峰主庵前坐定，只待吉时一刻，便行接任之礼。正在此时，忽见两青衣老者大踏步走上前来，朗声说道:“东方不败教主特命我等前来祝贺令狐冲大侠荣任恒山派掌门。”
Ling Huchong exchanged pleasantries with the group of heroes for a while, then sat down in front of the main temple of Jianfeng, waiting for a lucky moment to take over.
