They were shining green and four long swords were stabbed at Hatomochi’s throat at the same time. The four monks shouted in unison, “You shameless thing, take your life!” The voice was like a girl’s accent.
10虚竹转头看时，这四僧居然是梅兰菊竹四剑。他连忙叫道:“休伤他性命!”四剑齐声答应:“是!”但剑尖却不离鸠摩智的咽喉。

11众僧见少林寺中竞冒出四个少女，一时大惊，不知内中缘由。鸠摩智趁机讥笑玄慈方丈，玄慈这时也弄相涂了，只好是请客僧去客舍，留下玄字辈三十余名老僧，虚竹的师父慧轮以及虚竹和灵鹫宫四女。

13玄慈也觉得虚竹的这番经历在武林中前所未闻，一时拿不定主意该怎样处置他，便请其他众高僧出主意看如何办才最妥贴。商量来商量去，决定还是执行少林寺戒律

14这时，就听一老僧高呼:“有请吐番国师及众位高僧。”不一会儿，原来离开大殿的几位高僧又回到大殿，分头落坐。

15见众僧到齐了，玄慈双手合十说:“少林寺弟子虚竹，身犯杀戒、淫戒、荤戒、酒戒四大戒律，私学旁派武功，擅自出任旁掌门人，现依本寺戒律惩处，不得宽贷。”
When the monks arrived, Xuanci put his hands together and said, “Xu Zhu, a disciple of Shaolin Temple, who violated the four commandments of killing, lusting, meat and wine, privately learned the martial arts of the nearby sect, and took the position of the leader of the nearby sect without permission. Now he is punished according to the discipline of the temple and cannot be lenient.”
16主持执法的玄寂高声宣布:“罚打虚竹一百棍，从今而后，不得再为少林派弟子。”
Xuanji, who presided over the law enforcement, announced in a loud voice: “You will be punished with a hundred sticks of false bamboo. From now on, you will not be a disciple of Shaolin.”
17四名掌刑弟子各领命而出，不久回入大殿，手中各执一条檀木棍。玄寂正要传命用刑，突然一名僧人匆匆入殿，手中持了一大叠名帖，交给玄慈，说:“启禀方丈，河朔群雄拜山。”

Xuanji was about to send his order for punishment, when suddenly a monk rushed into the hall, held a large stack of famous notes in his hand, handed them to Xuanci, and said, “Tell the Abbot, the heroes of Hesuo worship the mountain.”
